The place
Mornese is a small town in Alto Monferrato in the Province of Alessandria. It is situated on a hill where two tributaries of the river Orba flow. Mornese is part of Val di Lemme, characterized by a sequence of hills and mountains sometimes of a brilliant green and sometimes a darker one. It watered by fresh and winding rivers, and dotted here and there with small towns and villages where time seems to have stopped.
